The History of my life in Sneakers

The History of my life in Sneakers or "Trainers"

From the first pair of "BRAND" name LA GEAR and a lesser popular name "Ellesse" in the late 80s (circa 88/89) to the Reebok Classics in Black in the early 90s.

Then FILA who remembers FILA ?

Ellesse also had a nice logo looking like a rising sun, with Red, Black & Yellow colours, but then eventually died out.

My Mum's Black/Green Adidas Hi-tops were my favourite even though they were half a size small for me.

I enjoyed pushing my foot into them anyway and doing the shuffle and the running man on the dancefloor of the African Caribbean Cultural Centre, Soul 2 Soul Caron Wheeler "Keep on Moving" playing on the sound system, dressed in baggy chinos and braids flashing!

And then remember Avia? Similar to Reebok Classics high tops, but with a diagonal stitch pattern and sleeker design; they were cool too!

It wasn't until later in my trainer life that I elevated to wearing Nike and White woven materials, which I found harder to keep clean than leather.

Of all these were by far my favourite

Featuring the BEST sculpted, grip sole ever!
